My boys had a blast trotting through our kid-swarmed neighborhood this Halloween. Two decked out Twins players and one little lion. Plus friends in tow. Each year, their pace gets harder for us to keep up with. They brought home way too many treats, plus some loot for Mommy (chocolate.)
But we’re obviously not camping out on candy here.
My plan to share a sweet treat this week was sadly derailed by technical difficulties. Maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing, given the sugar overload some of us – ahem – are experiencing today. One more piece of chocolate could send me spiraling towards Guys, I don’t feel so good.
So here’s something deliciously savory. Comforting. Real food…to nourish our bodies…to get us through the sugar hangover.
This is the meatloaf my family inhales; I can count on even my pickiest eater to clean his plate.
We’re talking juicy, tender, moist meatloaf. This tender meatloaf is generously smothered with the tastiest sauce.
Savory, tangy, and sweet…the sauce is reminiscent of a simple BBQ sauce. Draped over the most tender, succulent meatloaf that has ever emerged from the oven.
Easy, deeply satisfying, and perfect fall/winter comfort food.
P.S. If you’re a little adventurous and a lot into comfort food, try this excellent meatloaf with an Asian twist. It’s delish with a side of fluffy rice!
Or, if you’re looking for the perfect side dish to this classic American meatloaf, these roasted herb red potatoes and uber creamy mac ‘n cheese are sure hits for the ultimate comfort-meal.
